VOLUNTEERING
Whilst volunteerism is at the core of what we teach, it is also at the core of who we are. Each programme, seminar, workshop – even this website – are all created, curated and undertaken by our team of passionate, dedicated volunteers. Volunteerism runs at heart of every facet of our organisation, and it’s something we’re immensely proud of. If you believe in changing the world, then we could use your help
SEMINARS
The teams at our annual seminar are roughly split into two – delegate facing and non-delegate facing. This means that some teams work behind the scenes, and some work directly with the young people, usually as facilitators. Both groups are absolutely vital to what we do, and we always have positions open, and expertise needed. The seminar is an intense, action packed residential, that truly changes who you are as a volunteer.
WORKSHOPS
We host workshops at several schools across the year, and is how we reach the most amount of young people possible. Each workshop is unique, with a core curriculum surrounded by changes based on the local area and needs of the individual schools involved. They are fun, action packed, and a great opportunity to watch young people grow over short spaces of time.
ALUMNI ASSOCIATION
The work at HOBY UK doesn’t stop with the seminars and workshops – we run year round, and are always looking to expand, grow and develop. We want any alumnus of our seminars, from 2006 to now, to join us in helping that growth, whether by creating events or community action projects, or simply by suggesting an idea.
